One of the most influential bands of the last three decades, California-hailing metal legends Korn reinvented the genre and are said by many to be the pioneers of nu metal. Korn was formed out of the remaining members of a thrash metal band entitled L.A.P.D. With the addition of vocalist of Jonathan Davis and guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, an entirely new creature was born.
In 1994, they released their self-titled debut album, “Korn.” One of the most groundbreaking new albums in metal and causing quite a stir on the underground scene at the time, it is now viewed as a landmark album in the genre, and has sold over 10 million copies since its release. Their third album, “Follow The Leader,” and their fourth, “Issues,” released in 98 and 99, brought the band mainstream attention and vastly expanded their fanbase.
