The man's "SMILE! :D WORLD TOUR" is kicking off a new era, in support of his upcoming new album of the same name. Known for his electrifying and out-of-this-world shows, Robinson is set to debut new live production elements in the mix, including a full live band. As he plays his fan-favorite hits and new bangers from Smile! :D, it sure is set to be a massive celebration on the road.
His third studio record, SMILE :D, is scheduled for release on 26 July 2024. The tour will promptly start this August, crossing over 2025 as he hits the skies across the world. Attendees in his North American leg can expect ericdoa as his special guest.
Looking back at his headlining tours for his last two albums "Worlds" and "Nurture", the man has crafted live shows that not only celebrate his new music, but also made sure to take audiences into a world of wonder with his astounding visual production. Going back to his roots, Robinson began producing music at the age of 12, entirely self-taught. Posting his music online, he gained attention and even met his future collaborator Madeon. Since then, he's been releasing music that hits hard, growing his fanbase of dedicated EDM fans. In 2011, he signed a one-EP deal with Skrillex's label "Owsla", releasing "Spitfire" which topped the iTunes Dance chart, and even caused Beatport's servers to crash due to massive demand. In the following years, he released his debut studio album "Worlds", followed by Nurture". These LPs served his best hit singles - "Sea of Voices", "Sad Machine", "Lionhearted" featuring Urban Cone, "Something Comforting", "Look at the Sky", and "Untold" with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
In an interview feature by The Independent, the man's new album "SMILE :D" is said to be an "unabashed pop record that’s by turns bombastic and vulnerable", driven by its lead single "Cheerleader" that oozes of indie pop-punk vibes. The album is a reflection of the man's journey finding himself back to music, with uplifting themes and anthems that share the process. He shares how he's been finding something closer to truth, and he tells The Independent, "Even on those arrogant cocky tracks, it’s honest... Because it speaks to how I wish I could be."
